Making cookies with my loves!!

Early December we made peanut butter blossom cookies for our family night. The kids had fun rolling them in sugar and spending time with their daddy!!

Sadie Belle turns 3!!

Well it's official....I have a three year old! Sadie is now three and is excited to go into primary! What? I will have four children in primary? I know...I'm old. Sadie is really easy to please when it comes to present; pink, princess, or baby doll.  That about sums her up in one package!! She got three presents this year. She opened one in the morning, one after her nap, and one right before bed. She wanted to go to Golden Corral for her birthday dinner and ate cotton candy till her whole face was pink. She got a call from grandma and grandpa McIntire and a visit on last Saturday from grandma and grandpa Divis. I'm so grateful that we have family close that think about her and love her. I didn't make Sadie a cake or throw a party. I know! I'm lame! But I figured the treats at Golden Corral and the extra candy at the store today was enough sugar. We loved having a day with our Sadie to celebrate her sweetness! Here are some pictures of present opening and such.

It's hard to believe that Sadie is already three. During her twos she mastered potty training,learned to pretend play with dolls,started interacting more with Evan, and becomes more sassy everyday!

I look forward to seeing what 3 brings. I am so grateful for her energy and cheerfulness in our home. I usually catch her singing a song, or skipping down the hall in fits of laughter, or quietly putting a doll to bed. She is a girl through and through and I love that about her. She truly is a mother at heart. She'll help Kay get to the car when I'm loading up the baby, share her snacks so Emmy won't fuss, give Evan big hugs when they pretend play house, and speak quietly with James Micheal as they color in books. I love her bouncy curls and mischievous eyebrows. She always wants to wear a dress or bring a doll to the store. I'm so proud of how confident and sure she is of herself, I never had that, so I'm glad to see she already does. She looks so much like me and makes faces that are so identical to mine, I know she's definitely my daughter! She loving, caring, sweet, silly, and one sassy girl. We love you Sadie, you are the sunshine of our winter!! Love mom 

The story of our Hyrum

Our last and final Divis baby will be a little boy!!! Actually a very big boy they are thinking. He's a fairly good size already!! My due date is April 22nd, 2014. And as far as they could tell he is one very healthy little one. James was soo happy that his finale was a boy, and I was too. Three girls and three boys sounds just too perfect! We will be calling him Hyrum Mack Divis. 

We came up with his name in a very special way. I wanted to make sure I was having a boy before I told this story to too many people but now that it's been confirmed I will tell. I feel it's important to share this for posterities sake and it's a little long so skip to the cute picture if you want;)

Hyrums name: I always loved the story of Joseph and Hyrum growing up and their bond as brothers. Hyrum always held a special place in my heart but I never considered it as a name choice, because well, it's a little bit widely used in the church and unwidley used in the world. Well, last May I had a dream about a little boy, who looked very much like James Micheal but had Evans nose. He came up to me grabbed my elbow and told me he was ready to come.  I asked what he meant, and he kept repeating he was ready to come now and he wanted to come to our family now. When I woke up I just took it as another crazy dream and didn't think much of it.  Well for the next five weeks every time I dreamed, no matter what the dream was about he would come to me and tug on my elbow and tell me he was ready. Finally I told James about the dreams as they were becoming very vivid and quite frankly kind of scaring me. We had decided when Emmy was born that we wouldn't be having another till he was done with school and I had been fine with that, so I was surprised by my dreams and James response. We prayed and felt like even though it wasn't in our plans it was time. The moment we decided it was time I had another dream that night. I was in a sacrament room of a chapel all alone with an apostle who had passed, (I believe it was elder hate) came and sat next to me. I was visibly pregnant and he asked me what my name choice was for this little boy I was going to have. I gave him some of my choices, and then told him we liked the name Hyrum but thought it might put pressures or expectations on him that he wouldn't like in the church. The apostle got very quiet then looked at me and told me that naming him after a great man would make him a great man, and that we should name him Hyrum. I was suprised but knew it was true in my heart. I woke up and told James that his name was to be Hyrum and that we would have to figure out his middle name. James looked shocked but agreed immediately, especially since I wasn't even pregnant yet. And James had never liked the name before but I could tell he knew I had some sort of revelation like I did with Kay and knew it was more than just a whim. I found out later that Hyrum means exalted brother;)

We got pregnant the next month, and when I found out I was pregnant the dreams stopped. I was worried for awhile that it was a girl and that's why my dreams ended. And I would have been fine with that and dismissed the dreams, but since we found out he's a boy, it all seems amazing to me now. I know The Lord blessed me to have Hyrum when we will and that His timing is never our own. It is sad that he is the last , but I cannot deny the confirmation of the spirit that he was meant to be our last for a reason, and all the other children have taught us lessons to be ready for him. Mack was chosen as a play on my maiden name McIntire and has been my dad's nickname for years! Which I think is awesome and luckily James and I got to choose that one;)

Now please don't think that we think he is some sort of spiritual giant already! We know he will probably just be one normal little boy, but I know I needed these kind of confirmations to know he was the last and was meant to be with us no matter what! And to see the way this little boy has and will be brought into our lives wether he may have special needs or not has been a real testimony builder to me about eternal families and the gift children are to us no matter how many we are given or how different they may seem to others. They are truley amazing! 

Anyways, enough of my story, here is a good side view of our Hyrum! And yes, in the ultrasound he had Evans exact nose...and I cried when I saw that!

Sadie's new bed!

With the new little one coming we needed to move Sadie out of her Toddler bed so Emmy can occupy it soon. This is the first time in out nine year marriage we've had to buy a kids bed. We count ourselves blessed for that. But not wanting to spend a ton of money was necessary! So James made Sadie a very sturdy bed and stained it gray and sealed it. I found a great deal on a twin bed at Walmart for 89 dollars and free shipping!! So all in all the bed cost us around 150 bucks!! Sadie's in love with it and laid in it for ten minutes before she came upsatirs. I'm feeling a little more ready for a sixth baby now that all of our kids will have a bed to sleep in come April!! And James made it a little taller than normal so we can put at least five totes under it so I can fix a small bit of our storage problem!

James Micheal's Baptism and eighth birthday!

James micheal was baptized September 14th, 2013 in the Spokane stake center. It was quite a special and emotional day for us. I'm grateful he chose to take such a defining step in his life. He looked so cute in his new suit and watching him get baptized by his dad is something I'll remember forever.  It's hard to believe he is already eight. Soon he'll be twelve, then off on his mission before I know it. 

James micheals celebration after his baptism was also kinda his birthday party. We had lots of family and loved ones come it was so great to see all the support for us. 

James micheal has been such a blessing and help to me these past eight years. He has helped me wrangle babies and clean the house. He has been a great source of love and comfort in our home and I thank Heavenly Father for sending him to me first. It's going to be so amazing to watch him grow into a great young man of God. He was blessed with the gift of the Holy Ghost and that he would be a help and example to his siblings, and that he would be an amazing missionary.  How exciting it will be to see him achieve those things. We love you James micheal. Thanks so much for choosing to be part of our family. You've taught us so much about selflessness, compassion, and love. We love you, mom,dad,makayla,Sadie,Evan,Emmy, and baby number six. I'm so happy to know we can have ya forever!

Evan started his second year of preschool a couple of weeks ago. He loves riding the bus alone and seems to enjoy it just as much as last year. Sadie has been pretty lonely with Evan not being home in the afternoons. She misses him a lot and has no one to get into trouble with until Emmy figures it out, which won't be long. Here is Evan and Sadie on his first day back!

First day of school

James micheal and makayla's first day of school was September 3, 2013. Makayla loves her new teacher mrs. Hagood, and James has Mrs. Larson, who seems rather nice. I can't believe I have a kindergartener and second grader. They love being in the same school and James even said he saw her in the hallway and gave her a quick hug....how cute is that, seriously!!  Love my two big kids. Evan starts on Monday so we will see how that goes!

So I don't exactly know how to start this post, so I guess a picture will suffice:

In case you don't know what that is, it's a pregnancy test, and yes it is positive. Our sixth and final child is due in mid April. I will have a blog for this final child, more for me and my journaling purposes but you are more than welcome to check it out. Just click on the picture to the right. I'm happy and sad this time of my life is almost over. It's still beyond super early, so I'm hoping that I'm not jinxing myself with posting this, but all the people who read this blog already know. Silverwood

Last week we got to take James micheal to silverwood! Because he had earned his free ticket for reading ten hours. My mom was gracious enough to watch the five other crazies so we could have some special time with our oldest. It was a lot of fun to spend the whole day with our seven year old he loved the water park and his favorite ride was the log ride. I love how almost bored James micheal was without his siblings. He truly loves his little brother and sisters. But, he had fun and so did James and I. Here are a few picture of our adventure.

Emily is one!!!!

Our little Emsy turned one yesterday. The weather was exactly the same as it was the day she was born. Sunny and rainy:)  she will have a birthday party on Saturday but I wanted to write down about what has been so special about her first year of life. Emily has always been a quiet kind of soul from the time she was in my tummy.  She has remained the same as she was as a newborn; a quiet observer. I love that James micheal can make her giggle like crazy, I love her chubby thighs and adorable dimple. She has the most beautiful big eyes and is slow to fuss.  She has been a quiet reminder of God's love in our home. She has fit in to our family like she's always been here. She is patient and kind.  

Last night she woke up around 11:30 and was fussing, which is usual for her(she wants a bottle mostly). But last night she didn't want the bottle, she reached out to me and said,"momma!" I was surprised because she never says my name, ever.....I mean ever.  So I picked her up and cuddled her in her blanket and sat in the rocking chair with her. I sang a couple of lullabies to her and told her I loved her....she looked at me when I said that, smiled, touched my cheek with her little chubby hand and fell asleep instantly.  Lets just say I started crying...what a tender mercy this little girl has been in my life and what a blessing it is to be her mommy. This experience was a perfect example of who she is, not requiring much but loving you regardless of my imperfections. Thanks Heavenly Father for our little one year old.  We love you Emily....you are such a wonderful daughter of God!

Makayla's graduation

Makayla graduated from preschool on June 11,2013. I am so proud of my big girl. She's growing up these days. She's ready to take on full day kindergarten in style. 

James micheal's first grade concert

At the end of February, James and I were able to go to James micheal's first grade concert. He was really nervous and shy during the first couple of songs, but did wonderfully by the end of the night. He was part of the dance number, which was pretty much him dragging a girl by the hand till he was at the end of the dance line. James and I were just laughing so hard at his expressions the whole time. He also was part of the class xylophone number and got to play on one of the large ones. We went out for frozen yogurt afterwards and had fun discussing the songs with him. He did so great and it was nice to have one on one time with him. He's growing up so fast!
