James Micheal and daddy had a lot of fun in the snow, they built a fort and threw snowballs. It started snowing Saturday afternoon and didn't stop until Sunday night. The snow was so bad that they cancelled church on Sunday. And all the schools were closed on Monday. Not that it really matters, because the kids don't go to school yet. Even though the snow is a pain. It really does look beautiful. While the boys were outside Makayla decided it was a good time to get some peaceful sleep. She didn't even stay awake long enough for me to put her in her crib.So she fell asleep in her saucer. She is so adorable.

Funny James Micheal
Well, as we were eating breakfast this morning, I turn to look, and what do I see. My two year old with his cereal bowl on his head like a hat. He is so hillarious. Besides that life is going really well right now. The last couple of weeks Makayla has been making a lot of progress. She is always giggling and smiling. My mom came and babysat the kids and let James and I attend a session at the temple. It was really nice. That is all for now. Enjoy the pics of my silly little boy.

Let the Weaning Begin

Oh James Micheal say it isn't so, no more nursing!!
That's right, I said it. I am weaning Makayla off of me, finally. I am not going cold turkey like I had hoped for but half and half. Makayla is acutally doing really well with the formula, if I put it in one and only one bottle. That is the only way that girl will drink it. Ya know, I love feeding my babies, but this girl was just soo picky. I hope to have her officially just on formula next week. To celebrate this monumental occassion, I would like to say goodbye to all the wonderful things nursing involves. Goodbye to wet shirts, goodbye to going in my room and missing out on every adult conversation I have ever had, goodbye to midnight feedings. Good bye nursing, I am glad to be rid of you. Well, that is until I have another baby.

Happy New Year

Christmas is officially over, and the New Year has come. We got to spend about a half of a week up at my in-laws. There was a lot of baking and game playing. All of James' Family was there, except for his brother Jordan who is on his mission right now. We has a great time and had a lot of fun. We then headed to my parents house for about three days. James Micheal and Liam had a lot of fighting and hugging, and then some more fighting and hugging. We then went and saw a movie with my parents and the boys. We saw Alvin and the Chipmunks which was very cute. We came home for a day. Only to head out the next night. We went to our old home of Yakima and got to spend New Year's with our friends Russ and Emily. We had a wonderful time and were very sad we had to leave. We all had a very busy, but wonderful holiday. I always miss this time of year, when it is over. It was a lot of great memories. Here are some pictures of the family during Christmas break.

Peg and Hair Be Gone!!!
Well,it has finally happened. Makayla has no more peg. YEAHHHHH!!! She went to her ocularist, Kim Erickson, and got a prosthetic put in that doesnt have a giant peg sticking out of it. It was a great early Christmas present for us and her. The peg wont irritate her skin anymore, and people, will stop looking at us like we should be reported to Child Protective Services. Besides, Makayla's milestone, James Micheal has had a good day today too. He got to spend the night at Grandma McIntire's house last night and she gave him a very nice haircut. He looks very handsome, and very grown up. Every time he gets a haircut, he looks about a year older. So, if I count all of his haircuts, that would make him about eight years old. Just Kidding. Life is going good in the Divis household. We are all so excited for Chirstmas and love the holiday season.

My Silly Family
I am gonna get you
Ya know who cracks me up, my husband and kids. James is so funny with Makayla. He just has a way of making her laugh and make funny faces. And well, James Micheal is funny in his own way. He doesn't need any help. He decided last night to pull out our big red comforter and roll around on it with Makayla. The kids had a lot of fun together. James and I were laughing so much, watching the two of them interact with each other. Makayla would laugh anytime she heard James Micheal scream. So that would make James Micheal scream some more. I am sure our neighbors weren't very happy with us, but ya know what, we were having too much fun to care. I love our silly little family.

Makayla's Surgery
Well tomorrow at 6:45 am Makayla is getting her second surgery. Well I wouldn't really call it surgery, it is more like a procedure under anesthisia. She is getting put under and then they take impressions of her eye sockets and check them to make bigger prosthetics for her eyes. It isn't a very invasive surgery, but very nerve racking. James Micheal is going to my mother-in-laws house tonight since he really can't come with us. He is too young to go into the recovery room. I hope everything goes well, we love our little Makayla and want the best for her. I will just be happy when all the surgeries are done and she can not have to worry about them anymore.

My Sweet Babies
Come on, give me another kiss. They make me smile.
Ya know something, I love being a mom. My kids are so cute together. These are a couple of picutres of James Micheal and Makayla on J.M. bed. James Micheal kept on tucking in Makayla and giving her kisses. And Makayla would giggle and smile every time her big brother kissed her. And James really loves his baby sister. He always gives her a hug and kiss goodnight, and tells her how much he loves her. The Lord has really blessed me with two wonderful kids. I am sure that now that I said that, they will be terrors and give me grief the rest of my life. Oh well, I can't help that I beam with happiness over my little ones today. I love you both so much!!!

My Messy Little Girl
Well, Makayla went to the doctor yesterday, and guess what they said. They said she is still too small. I can't help that my daughter is petite. Just because I am not, and James is not, and we all know James Micheal is definetly not, I guess Makayla is not suppose to be either. Well ya know what. I feed that girl. I feed her a lot. I feed her peas, carrots, squash, chicken puree, prunes, pears, applesauce, bananas, and her favorite;oatmeal. This girl is eating plenty. And I have the pictures to prove it. She eats more than James Micheal did at her age. But James Micheal drank formula. And Makayla won't drink formula for her life. These are all the different ways I have tried to sneak formual into her diet. I have put it with food, nope. I have put sugar in it, nope. I have put breastmilk in it, nope. I have even put a tiny little amount in her oatmeal cereal with sugar and cinnamon, and you can guess, nope. She won't drink it. I know that formula is what made James Micheal bulk up. But that girl hates the stuff. And ya know what, it is okay to be petite. So that is my ramblings for the day. Whoever thought that I would support a girl who can eat as much as she wants and not gain a pound. Makayla don't worry I am sure that someday you will be in the 95th percentile like your brother. Ha! Who am I kidding, as big as her brother, dream on !!!!!

It's Beginning to Look A lot like Christmas...
Well, it finally snowed last night. This is the first snow of the season where we live. Usually, the first snow melts overnight. But this one actually stuck around. I love snow, but hate driving in it. I think everyone agrees with that. It does seem to make it feel more like Christmas around here with all the lights on houses and trees in the windows. And now the snow makes it complete.
James Micheal did a funny thing today. He is very fascinated with the Nativity Set my mother-in-law made for the family last year. He l0ves playing with the little stuffed animals and shepards. But today after he ate breakfast and sat down to watch The Lion King, he grabbed the baby Jesus and put him on the couch next to him. He then proceeded to talk in some sort of baby language to the baby Jesus, about the movie they were going to watch. It was so cute. He loves to feel like he is including everyone. I love these years, he does the sweetest things that I would never expect him to do.

Finally!!!
Never Fear, Tight Boy is Here!!!
It has finally happened. Makayla can sit up on her own for more than ten seconds. It seems like we have been working for months to get her to sit up and she finally decided that she could. This is a big milestone for her and I love that she is starting to interact with us. The next step is crawling. That will probably take a long time. But then again, I thought the same thing about her sitting up, and that seems to have happened a lot sooner than I thought it would. What a wonderful journey parenthood is. I think the thing Makayla has taught me the most, is to appreciate every second of your life. Because someone always has it a little harder than you do.
Besides Makayla sitting up, James Micheal is quite the copy cat. For example, it just so happens that there is a commercial on TV, that is a preview for an upcoming show on the WB. And one of the people on the commercial says, "Shut up, Mother!" So, I am guessing you know what happened next. All day long James Micheal walked around saying, "shud up, mudder". Boy did he think he was hillarious. That is one of those things that is so hard not to laugh at. So I tried to tell him that was not okay to say. But, I dont know if he got it. Anyways I kinda thought that was funny. Oh yeah and this picture that I am posting is James Micheal with Makayla's tights on his head. He thought he looked great and ran around the house giggling with them stuck on his head for about 10 minutes. Well tonight is FHE so I gotta get a lesson ready. Post more soon!

Happy Thanksgiving

I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in a couple of days. Our family is going to my mother's house for an early Thanksgiving Dinner. And then we are speeding off to James' families Thanksgiving for fun conversation. I have always loved Thanksgiving. Mostly because my mom makes the most delicious fried turkey of all time!!!!! And my husband has decided to undertake the cutting and frying of the turkey this year. He is a brave soul. We are trying to give mom a break this year so she might be able to actually enjoy Thanksgiving, instead of working the whole time.
Another reason I wanted to make a post about Thanksgiving is I wanted to show you the cute little hat that James Micheal got in nursery. I love our nursery!! They always do cute little crafts and teach the children wonderful things about the Savior and the Gospel.
Also i posted a pic of our family home evening activity. I thought it would be fun to start the Holiday season with some snowman cookies. It was a lot of fun. Makayla didn't make one but she did like the frosting.
Anyways, I just wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

A Little About Us

Well I just wanted to write a little summary about my family. My husband and I have been married for three great years. We have two children so far. We have a little boy named James Micheal Divis who turned two in September. He is a little spit fire. He is a lot like his father, who just happens to have the same first name as him. We also have a eight and a half month old daughter named Makayla Grace. She is definetly the life of the party and the family. She was born with a very rare condition. She has micropthalmia in her left eye and anopthalmnia in her right eye. So bascially, for those of you who dont know what that is she has no right eye and her left eye has no function. It looks a lot like a little white marshmallow. Besides her blindness she is perfectly normal and healthy in every way. She already has been fitted for a prosthetic eye in the left side. That is why in her pictures she has an eye. The right side will take a little longer. Anyways, that is a little about our family. I will post more later on.
Our Happy Family
Hey friends and family. I decided it was time to get a hobby. I have a cousin who has a blogspot and I love it. She always tells cute little stories about her kids and stuff. So I thought I would give it a try. I hope it works out.
