Makaylas adventures at school
Kay got to have the experience of another blind adult coming to her school. She got to lead Mr. Bee to her classroom. Stand in the front of the class with him while he explained how he used echolocation and got to show him the cafeteria as well. She had such a great time and was buzzing with excitement about her new friend andhow he was like her. I was also surprised to find out he comes from a family of nine and has three other blind siblings. That's crazy!! But gave me lots of hope for Hyrum and Kay. Here are some pictures of Kay's favorite visitor:

Makaylas 7th Birthday
Makayla had her 7th birthday this last Wednesday. Unfortunately the whole family was in the midst of one stage or another of a nasty stomach bug, so we didn't do a huge celebration. James fortunately made her an ice cream cake and I had ordered her presents weeks earlier off of a braille site, so she was covered to some degree. She had a great day at school and everyone sang to her...which was her favorite part. She came home and while I laid on the couch feeling dead she opened her presents from us. She got a ton of brailler paper, a new braille book, and a little braille cube she can practice her letters on. James micheal had his blue and gold banquet, so we went to that and had dinner. She thought the dinner was just for her and was very excited. We got home so late we did her cake the next day. She had a great minimalist birthday this year. We can't believe she is 7!!
Well what can I say...Kay's done amazing this year in kindergarten and I am glad we held her back to mature. She's gotten better with pretty much all her independent abilities. I'm hoping by the time she is nine I will be able to see her get dressed, use the bathroom, take a shower, and help with some household chores independently. It seems like a lot to do in two years but I feel like she is up to the challenge. Finding out our last son will have the same disability as makayla has definitely made us picture Kay in a very new way. She does give us a lot of hope that Hyrum can have the same life hopefully, and will be just as or more independent than Kay. It's also good to know that Kay will not feel like she is "different" then the other kids because she will have a brother who is just like her. I worry a lot about my abilities as a mother to Kay quite often and can't imagine how I will feel being responsible for two children that are blind, but I know Kay will give me the strength and hope that I can do it. We love you Kay, you are a beautiful light to our family and many others, we love you!!!

Evans 5th birthday
The Sadie, Kay was asleep.
My boys:)
Miss Emmy!!
How can I explain Evan... I honestly never know where to start with him. He was a light in my darkness. I love the hope he gives me and the Christlike love that exudes from him. I see him growing and it breaks my heart. It's hard to believe that he already five and will have three siblings that will look up to him in April. He always will have a tight grip on my heart and I know his purpose as a baby was to heal me from the overwhelming care and worry I had at the time with Kay. He snuggled and loved me and made me feel secure and peaceful, and for that I owe him so much. I love that he is so soft spoken and empathetic.
I didn't really know how best to describe his Christlike empathy that is incredibly powerful and exudes from him, so I decided to share this moment I had with him, because it's something I will never forget;
The day we found out about Hyrum...Evan Sadie and Emily were all with me at my ultrasound( because I thought it would be routine). I tried to keep my tears from them, but I couldn't. In that little hospital room Evan grabbed my hand leaned his head on my shoulder and cried with me, then quietly said," don't worry mommy I will be daddy right now...I love you, it's ok". We've always know that his understanding has only been prohibited by his lack of speech and not by his lack of mental capacity, but that small act showed me how much he truly understands us and loves us. He seems wise beyond his years and I wonder if he was chosen to be my comforter in this life,
at my darkest moments. I love him and I can't wait to see what being five brings him. We love you Ev-bot, our family makes no sense without you.

Finding out about Hyrum
Well when we got our ultrasound in Novemeber to see Hyrum they had told us that everything looked great and he was a healthy little boy. On December 20th during my second ultrasound to check on his heart we got some bad news. I felt the need to ask the ultrasound tech to check his eyes, it's something we have always asked as more of a joke than anything, but when she went to check I knew something was wrong. I couldn't see the orbits at all and I could tell the ultrasound tech wasn't sure what to tell us. My doctor made it clear to me about an hour later that they believed that Hyrum is suffering from the same condition as makayla. He has no orbits or very small orbits and would more than likely be blind. James and I were devastated and felt so confused and angry. Originally we had been told that Kay's condition had nothing to do with genetics and it was a one in a million type thing and our other children had been proof of that. Well....they were wrong. That is probably what made the knowledge so difficult, because it had never crossed our minds that it would happen again. Also they did not know much of Kay's condition back in 2007, she was a rare case period.
After the ultrasound they made an appointment with a fetal specialist at the hospital. We saw him after Christmas. He did another more advanced ultrasound and confirmed what we had been told. We were for some reason still hoping the doctor just hadn't seen correctly or gotten the wrong angle, but that wasn't the case. He does however believe that Hyrum may have micro orbs on both sides, but right now it's difficult to tell. He did tell us though that every other part of Hyrum looks healthy and well. Certain things will not be known until his birth in April, and I am very anxious about that. I'm not sure what Hyrums future will be but I'm praying that he can be part of our family and will be well enough to know he is loved.
We also have met with a genetic counselor who believes that James and I both carry and autosomal recessive gene that has made this condition appear in 2 of our six children. It cannot be pinned on one or the other since we will have two sexes with the same condition. Which means even if we have passed down the gene to the kids the only way they will have a child with this condition is if their spouse also carries the gene. So it will be rare either way. They will be drawing blood for Kay first in hopes that she may have the key and the other children may not need to be tested at all. If nothing is found this might be a long process that may take years to figure out. We never have felt prompted to push genetics before, but would like the kids to have some idea about their children in the future if they choose to have them.
The transition of believing that my last child would be whole and complete to knowing he will not has been really hard on me. I've been trying to find peace and loose my sense of guilt, and it will take time but I'm trying. It's hard to say how well I will deal with the stares and terrible reactions rude people tend to have when they see our blind children for the first time...it was a very difficult time when Kay went through it and I pray I will handle it better.
But through this I just wanted Hyrum to know that we love him so much. All my dreams of him make more sense now, and it does feel like destiny that he was placed with us. Although it's a struggle I never wanted to have to relive for me or my last son, I'm still grateful we will go through it together. We love you Hyrum! We know there is sooo much you will teach us.

Sadie Belle turns 3!!
Well it's official....I have a three year old! Sadie is now three and is excited to go into primary! What? I will have four children in primary? I know...I'm old. Sadie is really easy to please when it comes to present; pink, princess, or baby doll. That about sums her up in one package!! She got three presents this year. She opened one in the morning, one after her nap, and one right before bed. She wanted to go to Golden Corral for her birthday dinner and ate cotton candy till her whole face was pink. She got a call from grandma and grandpa McIntire and a visit on last Saturday from grandma and grandpa Divis. I'm so grateful that we have family close that think about her and love her. I didn't make Sadie a cake or throw a party. I know! I'm lame! But I figured the treats at Golden Corral and the extra candy at the store today was enough sugar. We loved having a day with our Sadie to celebrate her sweetness! Here are some pictures of present opening and such.

We sure love our December baby!!
It's hard to believe that Sadie is already three. During her twos she mastered potty training, learned to pretend play with dolls, started interacting more with Evan, and becomes more sassy everyday!
I look forward to seeing what 3 brings. I am so grateful for her energy and cheerfulness in our home. I usually catch her singing a song, or skipping down the hall in fits of laughter, or quietly putting a doll to bed. She is a girl through and through and I love that about her. She truly is a mother at heart. She'll help Kay get to the car when I'm loading up the baby, share her snacks so Emmy won't fuss, give Evan big hugs when they pretend play house, and speak quietly with James Micheal as they color in books. I love her bouncy curls and mischievous eyebrows. She always wants to wear a dress or bring a doll to the store. I'm so proud of how confident and sure she is of herself, I never had that, so I'm glad to see she already does. She looks so much like me and makes faces that are so identical to mine, I know she's definitely my daughter! She loving, caring, sweet, silly, and one sassy girl. We love you Sadie, you are the sunshine of our winter!! Love mom

The story of our Hyrum
Our last and final Divis baby will be a little boy!!! Actually a very big boy they are thinking. He's a fairly good size already!! My due date is April 22nd, 2014. And as far as they could tell he is one very healthy little one. James was soo happy that his finale was a boy, and I was too. Three girls and three boys sounds just too perfect! We will be calling him Hyrum Mack Divis.
We came up with his name in a very special way. I wanted to make sure I was having a boy before I told this story to too many people but now that it's been confirmed I will tell. I feel it's important to share this for posterities sake and it's a little long so skip to the cute picture if you want;)
Hyrums name: I always loved the story of Joseph and Hyrum growing up and their bond as brothers. Hyrum always held a special place in my heart but I never considered it as a name choice, because well, it's a little bit widely used in the church and unwidley used in the world. Well, last May I had a dream about a little boy, who looked very much like James Micheal but had Evans nose. He came up to me grabbed my elbow and told me he was ready to come. I asked what he meant, and he kept repeating he was ready to come now and he wanted to come to our family now. When I woke up I just took it as another crazy dream and didn't think much of it. Well for the next five weeks every time I dreamed, no matter what the dream was about he would come to me and tug on my elbow and tell me he was ready. Finally I told James about the dreams as they were becoming very vivid and quite frankly kind of scaring me. We had decided when Emmy was born that we wouldn't be having another till he was done with school and I had been fine with that, so I was surprised by my dreams and James response. We prayed and felt like even though it wasn't in our plans it was time. The moment we decided it was time I had another dream that night. I was in a sacrament room of a chapel all alone with an apostle who had passed, (I believe it was elder hate) came and sat next to me. I was visibly pregnant and he asked me what my name choice was for this little boy I was going to have. I gave him some of my choices, and then told him we liked the name Hyrum but thought it might put pressures or expectations on him that he wouldn't like in the church. The apostle got very quiet then looked at me and told me that naming him after a great man would make him a great man, and that we should name him Hyrum. I was suprised but knew it was true in my heart. I woke up and told James that his name was to be Hyrum and that we would have to figure out his middle name. James looked shocked but agreed immediately, especially since I wasn't even pregnant yet. And James had never liked the name before but I could tell he knew I had some sort of revelation like I did with Kay and knew it was more than just a whim. I found out later that Hyrum means exalted brother;)
We got pregnant the next month, and when I found out I was pregnant the dreams stopped. I was worried for awhile that it was a girl and that's why my dreams ended. And I would have been fine with that and dismissed the dreams, but since we found out he's a boy, it all seems amazing to me now. I know The Lord blessed me to have Hyrum when we will and that His timing is never our own. It is sad that he is the last , but I cannot deny the confirmation of the spirit that he was meant to be our last for a reason, and all the other children have taught us lessons to be ready for him. Mack was chosen as a play on my maiden name McIntire and has been my dad's nickname for years! Which I think is awesome and luckily James and I got to choose that one;)
Now please don't think that we think he is some sort of spiritual giant already! We know he will probably just be one normal little boy, but I know I needed these kind of confirmations to know he was the last and was meant to be with us no matter what! And to see the way this little boy has and will be brought into our lives wether he may have special needs or not has been a real testimony builder to me about eternal families and the gift children are to us no matter how many we are given or how different they may seem to others. They are truley amazing!

Sadie's new bed!
With the new little one coming we needed to move Sadie out of her Toddler bed so Emmy can occupy it soon. This is the first time in out nine year marriage we've had to buy a kids bed. We count ourselves blessed for that. But not wanting to spend a ton of money was necessary! So James made Sadie a very sturdy bed and stained it gray and sealed it. I found a great deal on a twin bed at Walmart for 89 dollars and free shipping!! So all in all the bed cost us around 150 bucks!! Sadie's in love with it and laid in it for ten minutes before she came upsatirs. I'm feeling a little more ready for a sixth baby now that all of our kids will have a bed to sleep in come April!! And James made it a little taller than normal so we can put at least five totes under it so I can fix a small bit of our storage problem!

James Micheal's Baptism and eighth birthday!
James micheals celebration after his baptism was also kinda his birthday party. We had lots of family and loved ones come it was so great to see all the support for us.
James micheal has been such a blessing and help to me these past eight years. He has helped me wrangle babies and clean the house. He has been a great source of love and comfort in our home and I thank Heavenly Father for sending him to me first. It's going to be so amazing to watch him grow into a great young man of God. He was blessed with the gift of the Holy Ghost and that he would be a help and example to his siblings, and that he would be an amazing missionary. How exciting it will be to see him achieve those things. We love you James micheal. Thanks so much for choosing to be part of our family. You've taught us so much about selflessness, compassion, and love. We love you, mom, dad, makayla,Sadie,Evan,Emmy, and baby number six. I'm so happy to know we can have ya forever!
My trouble maker
We will call this photo what happens when mommy goes to the car to grab the milk and leaves an unopened pudding cup on the table. Yeah...she's nuts!!
Evan's first day of preschool.
Evan started his second year of preschool a couple of weeks ago. He loves riding the bus alone and seems to enjoy it just as much as last year. Sadie has been pretty lonely with Evan not being home in the afternoons. She misses him a lot and has no one to get into trouble with until Emmy figures it out, which won't be long. Here is Evan and Sadie on his first day back!

First day of school
James micheal and makayla's first day of school was September 3, 2013. Makayla loves her new teacher mrs. Hagood, and James has Mrs. Larson, who seems rather nice. I can't believe I have a kindergartener and second grader. They love being in the same school and James even said he saw her in the hallway and gave her a quick hug....how cute is that, seriously!! Love my two big kids. Evan starts on Monday so we will see how that goes!

So...
So I don't exactly know how to start this post, so I guess a picture will suffice:
In case you don't know what that is, it's a pregnancy test, and yes it is positive. Our sixth and final child is due in mid April. I will have a blog for this final child, more for me and my journaling purposes but you are more than welcome to check it out. Just click on the picture to the right. I'm happy and sad this time of my life is almost over. It's still beyond super early, so I'm hoping that I'm not jinxing myself with posting this, but all the people who read this blog already know. So...here we go. One last time!
Silverwood
Last week we got to take James micheal to silverwood! Because he had earned his free ticket for reading ten hours. My mom was gracious enough to watch the five other crazies so we could have some special time with our oldest. It was a lot of fun to spend the whole day with our seven year old he loved the water park and his favorite ride was the log ride. I love how almost bored James micheal was without his siblings. He truly loves his little brother and sisters. But, he had fun and so did James and I. Here are a few picture of our adventure.
